当地时间5月28日，尼日利亚南部河流州警方确认，该州首府哈科特港发生一起踩踏事件，已造成至少31人死亡，还有部分伤者被送往医院接受治疗。
据了解，哈科特港一教会当天举行免费食品发放活动。早上6时30分左右，人群聚集在活动场地大门口，当保安人员打开一扇小门时，民众争相涌入，导致踩踏事故发生。
